Manchester City have been linked with Brazilian striker Alfonso Alves. City have struggled in front of goal this season, after selling Andy Cole and Robbie Fowler before the start of the season. Georgios Samaras, who looks promising, has failed in consistantly finding the back of the net.
Alves has been linked with Liverpool in the past, but it looks as though now City are favourites to secure his signature this January.
