Inter Milan wants Frank Lampard

Inter Milan have today said that they would be interested in signing Frank Lampard, and that they know that the Chelsea midfielder is interested in joining the Italian club, but they will respect Chelsea’s wishes, should they want to keep the Englishman.

Chelsea will be unsure of letting Lampard go, due to his major part in securing Chelsea’s success in the past three seasons, which include two Premier League titles. If the thirty year old does is allowed to leave London then Chelsea will still world class players, as they have recently strengthened their side with Portuguese playmaker Deco.

Chelsea have said that they expect Frank Lampard to stay at the club until his contract runs out at the earliest, meaning that he would have to stay at Chelsea for one more season, even though Inter Milan say they will not wait forever to get the midfielder to sign the contract, and they have already made bids, the highest of which is said to be around seven million pounds, which is surprising considering that just two seasons ago Chelsea were receiving bids of around fifty million pounds for the player.

The main reason for Frank Lampard wanting to move to Inter Milan is due to his contract extension offer from Chelsea: they are offering him a four year contract, although Lampard has said openly that he will only settle for a five year deal. Another possible reason for the player to want to move to the Italian side is that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has recently taking charge of Inter, and after making such an impression on the Chelsea players, he has made a few of the players want to follow him to Italy, with Didier Drogba and Petr Cech both saying they want to leave the current Premier League runners up.
